tune: “Irish”, from “Collection of Hymns & Sacred Poems,” Dublin , 1749
I rise to offer heartfelt praise,
I stand to bless the Lamb,
I kneel, awestruck, and bow, amazed:
All glory to the great I AM.
There is a name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth,
It sounds like music in my ear,
Most beautiful name on earth.
Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing mercy, grace unknown,
Amazing love beyond degree!
I rise to offer heartfelt praise,
I stand to bless the Lamb,
I kneel, awestruck, and bow, amazed:
All glory to the great I AM.
